How to measure space for an appliance before ordering
Before choosing a model, measure its intended location. Record width, height and depth in centimetres, and keep photos of the area and connections. On this site, you can filter by each dimension and sort models from smallest to largest.
Appliance dimensions and installation dimensions
Catalogue dimensions describe the appliance. They do not confirm that it fits a recess. Refrigerators may need ventilation and door-opening space; built-in ovens have their own installation drawing. Compare your measurements with the exact model’s drawing, including all manufacturer-required clearances.
Check the actual depth
Handles, pipes, plugs and rear connections can affect the space needed. Check whether depth includes the handle and, for a washer, allow room for water and drainage connections. Do not assume the appliance can stand flush against the wall.
Check the delivery route
Measure the entrance, passages, lift and staircase. A model that fits the kitchen may not fit along the route. For narrow passages or dismantling, agree arrangements and costs with the delivery provider in advance.
When a measurement is missing
If a dimension is missing, request the manufacturer’s specification before ordering. Dimension filters only show products with the selected measurement known. Check all three dimensions and installation requirements together.
